Western Michigan University
Triangle worked with Western Michigan University on renovations to the Stadium Drive Apartments located on their Kalamazoo campus. The project involved four buildings; one that was completely demolished with various components salvaged from it to utilize in the remaining three buildings. Updates included reroofing, asbestos abatement and the complete renovation of 72 apartments. Each apartment renovation was examined at the individual level and specific repairs and updates were done on an ad hoc basis.
Not only did Triangle manage the project, but all dry-wall installation, general trades, and selective demolition was completed in-house, utilizing our special projects group. These renovations will increase the life span of the apartment buildings and allow Western Michigan University to use these facilities as quality on-campus housing for their students.
The buildings are located in a high traffic area on Stadium Drive so our project team worked diligently to guarantee student safety around the construction site. This included using drape fence around the perimeter with locking security gates at logical traffic locations as well as limiting all material deliveries to a specific time to reduce noise and dust.
