Construction Management Self-Performing Trades

The Cascade Fire Station project involved the construction of a state-of-the-art facility designed to meet current and future needs. Completed in twelve months, the new 18,300-square-foot station replaces the old Station No. 1 and features modern amenities and design elements tailored to the specific requirements of a fire station.

Key Features

Future-Proof Design
The fire station was built with an eye toward future needs, particularly in terms of accommodating changes in technology and equipment. The apparatus bay was designed to house the current fleet of engines and is equipped to handle future expansions, including the potential shift to electric engines. This forward-thinking approach ensures the station remains adaptable to evolving demands.

Material Durability
Durability was a key consideration in the design and construction of the station. Recognizing the demanding nature of fire station operations, materials were selected for their ability to withstand wear and tear. The focus on material durability helps manage lifecycle costs and ensures the facility remains functional and resilient over time.

Modern Features and Facilities
The Cascade Fire Station includes a range of modern features designed to support both operational efficiency and firefighter well-being:

  • Apparatus Bays: Four pull-through bays with large doors for easy access and maneuverability.
  • Living Quarters: Comprehensive living spaces featuring five bunk rooms, a day room, kitchen, dining room, and fitness area.
  • Administrative Offices: Dedicated spaces for administrative functions and a training center to support ongoing education and preparedness.

Safety and Efficiency
Safety is a top priority in the station’s design, with clear separation between hot and cold zones. A designated decontamination area is included to ensure firefighters can clean up before entering living quarters and offices, enhancing safety and hygiene.

Community Engagement
Community engagement was a central focus throughout the project. The team prioritized transparency and fostered public involvement through social media updates, milestone celebrations, and open houses. The project also supports community initiatives through the Cascade Firefighters’ Association. Triangle continues to sponsor and provide marketing and event planning support for the CFA’s Annual Charity Hockey event, demonstrating a commitment to the Cascade Township community beyond the project’s completion in Fall 2023.

The Cascade Fire Station is more than just a building; it represents a collaborative effort to create a facility that meets the needs of today while anticipating future requirements. Triangle’s unique partnership with the Cascade Township Fire Department reflects a dedication to quality, community, and innovation.
