Why Triangle?
Triangle is my second “adult” job, and I chose Triangle for the opportunity to grow in my career and for a change in culture from where I was. I stay because I am afforded that opportunity for growth. I also choose Triangle for the people. I like the people I work with, and I feel like I can be my authentic self every day. I am appreciated for that.
How has your career grown since starting at Triangle?
I began at Triangle as a Senior Project Manager five years ago and have since been promoted to a Project Development Manager. , I feel like my opportunity to be a voice in the company and our direction is only limited by my opinion. I really feel like I have endless opportunities here to make my mark on the company and help provide a vision for the future.
Favorite project you’ve worked on?
My favorite projects are those that I can take my family to or see others enjoy. A lot of projects I have done over the years, I never see again after the final warranty expires. I like the projects I can walk into and say, “I built that” (with some help of course).
What do you like to do in your free time?
I like to be outdoors – running, biking, boating during the summer. I also love spending time in downtown Grand Rapids. I am a big architecture and history nerd, so I really enjoy walkabouts in our great community.
How did you end up in construction?
When I was a kid I would draw floor plans of houses. My mom designed the home I grew up in, and never got to fulfill her dream of being an architect, so initially I thought I wanted to be an architect as well. After a college orientation for an architectural program, I realized that I still wanted to pursue construction, just from a different vantage point.
What’s the last book you read?
I am currently reading White Fragility: Why it’s so Hard for White People to Talk about Racism by Robin Diangelo—a book I would recommend every high school student be required to read to better understand social justice.
What motivates you?
Everyday I wake up in pursuit of being a better version of myself. My desire to constantly improve who I am as a human being motivates me.
What are you working on right now?
I am working on Antoine Court, a 3-story, 50-unit affordable housing project located in downtown Grand Rapids for the Grand Rapids Housing Commission. I am also working on several projects for Ferris State University including their Center for Virtual Learning and the Rock/Miller Hall renovations. Plus working on getting that next project.

I’m still searching for my hidden talent. I can make my elbows stick out weird so they look broken, but not sure that qualifies as a talent.
