Western Michigan University
As part of Western’s plan to re-imagine their south end of campus, the current Elmwood Apartments will be demolished to make way for the new South Neighborhood Housing. This demolition will provide a clean slate for the construction of the first wave of south neighborhood revitalization.
The overarching design goals of this new housing project include providing the latest and greatest in student housing amenities, incorporating cutting-edge design elements geared toward the student of the future, and to refresh the visual identity of the university along the very visible Stadium Drive corridor.
This $34 million project will provide updated, modern housing for students. Construction is set to begin in 2018 and will be completed by the 2020/2021 school year.
This project will be pursuing LEED Silver Certification (v4).
