The Cancer Center at Metro Health Village
A cancer care facility providing medical and radiation oncology.
The LEED Certified Metro Cancer & Hematology Center is a cancer care facility constructed as part of the Metro Health Village. The 21,502 sq ft outpatient center is located in the southeast corner of the Metro Health Village on Byron Center Avenue. Two major programs are run out of the center — medical oncology which includes patient consultations, and chemotherapy/infusion services and radiation oncology.
Metro Health cancer patients are able to meet with doctors and undergo chemotherapy and radiation treatment close to the hospital. The facility offers eleven exam rooms, nine private infusion rooms and a ten-patient common infusion area. Equipment vaults have been constructed for a linear accelerator and a Brachytherapy as well as a CT scan room.
The one-story building includes a sloped roof to give it more of a homelike atmosphere. The exterior is similar to the brick used on the main hospital and similar in design to Metro Health’s outpatient centers.
The lobby, patient and family lounge area of the Cancer Center at Metro Health Village is a warm and comfortable place. Metro hospital utilized its color palette to select furniture styles and colors to accentuate the wall colors and flooring.
