Mercy Health Lacks Cancer Center

The Lacks Cancer Center was the first comprehensive cancer treatment facility in West Michigan. Primary, ancillary, spiritual, and complementary care are all provided under one roof. The center contains the most current radiation therapy equipment, surgical suites, and 42 private patient rooms with an additional 32 rooms added in recent years. Additional features include family hospitality areas, outpatient services, a rooftop garden, a labyrinth, water features, a chapel, and the Warren Reynolds Library.

The Lacks Cancer Center was the first LEED Certified Hospital in the state of Michigan.

Renovations
An additional $3.5 million renovation of 27,327 sq ft on the third floor of the Lacks Cancer Center added 32 new patient rooms that were specifically designed and equipped for care of elderly patients. Each patient room was equipped with an overhead lift for moving and positioning patients.

A breast services renovation for $318,000 involved the remodeling of and new finishes to more than 6,400 sq ft of existing space on the second floor. This area provided additional waiting area space and increased privacy for patients.
