Great Lakes Energy Cooperative
This project provided Great Lakes Electric Cooperative with a contemporary and functional facility.
This project provided O & A Electric Cooperative, with a contemporary and functional facility. The front of the structure is conventional brick and block, while the back side is a structural-steel design. Located in Newaygo, Michigan, the O & A facility includes 15,000 sq ft of office space and 20,000 sq ft of service and maintenance space.
It was put on an accelerated construction schedule of just seven months at the request of the client. Preliminary planning included provisions for phased occupancy, which enabled Triangle to turn over the office portion of the new building ahead of the remainder of the project, thereby facilitating the move-in of the administrative staff.
In 1996, members of the cooperative voted to merge as of January 1, 1997 into a new entity named Great Lakes Energy Cooperative.
