The first affordable housing lofts of their kind in Jackson, MI, Mechanic Lofts offer a modern, urban living experience for individuals with limited income.

This historic brick building was built in 1889 and is located near the heart of downtown Jackson. Triangle renovated the building, creating six, two-bedroom loft units and twelve, one-bedroom units.

Within a short distance from an array of shopping, library, schools, churches, public arts and entertainment venues, Mechanic Lofts is situated in a walkable community.

The blending of old and new gives Mechanic Lofts unique features such as interior exposed brick walls, bamboo hardwood floors, open floor plans, and large windows. Amenities such as new elevators, secured underground parking and stainless kitchen appliances create convenient and modern living units.

Located adjacent to the common green space and the entrance to the development, a central community building provides meeting, management and recreation facilities for residents.

This is a MSHDA funded project.
